1:  Don't take a chance on the Random present, if you open it and it's a Randomizer, you'll have to start identifying presents all over again.

2:  In two-player mode, walking head-on into your pal will cause you to high-five and both energy bars will level out.

3:  Also in the two-player game, effects of a present are shared if both players are on the same screen.

4:  If one player is under attack and is low on energy/lives in a two-player game, they can hide in the elevator, while the other player searches for presents and/or the ship piece.

5:  Remember to drop any unwanted presents, you never know when you'll need the space in your pockets.

6:  The lower levels are good for getting lots of presents + points.


Getting presents from Santa

To sneak up on Santa Claus, creep slowly by holding the action button (must not have an item for this). If he starts to look around himself, stop dead. Once you're beside him, without him running away, walk normally and he'll drop two or three presents for you.


Level 0

To get to Level 0 you will need either the Rocket Skates, Innertube or Icarus Wings. Fall down to Level 1 and go to the bottom left-hand corner of the map where you will find an island with a hole in it. Drop down the hole and you can gain an extra life from the Lemonade-Stand Boy (only once), and rejuvinate yourself in the Hottub. Fall off Level 0 and you will go back to the highest level you have reached so far.


Island of presents

In the top right-hand corner of Level 1 you will find an island with 6 presents on it. Again you need one of the three items mentioned above to reach it. To leave the level, go back to the lift (if possible) or use an Un-Fall (which will always be one of the presents on that island).


Mermaid

On the end level (Funkotron) swim to the bottom right-hand corner and there is an island with a Mermaid on it. Pretty pointless but silly all the same. There is also a similar island (but without the Mermaid) in the top left-hand corner.


Promotions

Here's the different points levels at which you are promoted. Each promotion lengthens your maximum energy.

Joypad cheat

Pause the game and press the following:

Up + Action + Present List + Map
Right + Action
Down + Present List
Left + Map

You should hear a tone if it has worked. Unpause the game and you will have all but one of the ship pieces, and the last one will always be on the next level up.
